@MrWonderbread94 If u want to do mma take muay thai for boxing and strikes take catch wrestling or bjj for ground controll. Id also recomend that u take judo judo helps alot.

@dannielpreto Corporal duhnam a medal of honor recipient lost his life from a grenade while engaging insurgents in hand to hand combat. Given the nature of these modern wars where there are civilians present and the enemy isnt always clear you may have the chance to perform hand to hand combat. Not to mention Marines provide security all over the world at embassys and military installations hand to hand is not out the door.

@sonrise1979 They’re very tough guys no one could deny that. However, when pertaining to hand to hand combat they can’t be at the level of a trained fighter. These exercises aren’t meant to have them fight, but rather instill confidence in them. Firearms and weapons combat is what they use, wars are fought with weapons and heavy artillery. A lot of those drills are based on BJJ and grappling, so they can become good fighters because they are already tough and have the basics down.

@madskilz56 You shouldn’t have been hitting on his girlfriend. Marine or not, you can still show decency and respect to other men out there, and not steal their girls. Makes no difference if you’re a military man or a civilian. You aren’t better than a man that has never served. Your conduct has proven it. No honour, no fidelity. No doubt you’re tough, but that doesn’t make you more of a man. It’s an illusion. Self-control and decency is the mark of a real man.

@MrWonderbread94 – If you want to get into MMA, go take boxing or Karate for strikes. Tae Kwon Do for kicks. Wrestling/jujitsu/BJJ for grappling. DO NOT take a MMA class that says “MMA”. Most of those are complete crap.
